"Why can't I do it like that person?"
When I look at the people around me, I blame myself, get depressed, and then I become miserable again...
Are you also suffering from this "comparison loop"?
The words in this book touched my heart
"Suffering comes from the gap between reality and our own selfish beliefs"
-- "How to Let Go of Suffering" by Daigu Motokatsu
The moment I read these words, I felt like I had discovered the “true nature” of my suffering.
it is,I was in a world of "preconceptions" where I was suffering by comparing myself to others.is.
The pain of comparison
The suffering I was feeling was born out of comparison.
- That person has skills
- That person delivers results.
- Living a free and sparkling life
In comparison,I have accomplished nothing. I am inferior. I am a boring person.
In this way, my mind was dominated by feelings of inferiority, jealousy, and self-denial.
One day, I suddenly accepted
But one day, I suddenly realized.
"I can't become that person. So I'll just do what I want to do at my own pace."
With that in mind, I began to change my behavior little by little.
The feeling that I was able to do things that I couldn't do last year
- I was able to send out messages that I would never have thought of a year ago.
- I tried it and was able to continue surprisingly well.
- The small sense of accomplishment helped me to affirm myself
Not "Compared to someone else," but "Compared to myself yesterday."
Once I started thinking like this, I felt a sense of relief.
Aim for yourself, not for that person
"Get clear on what you really want to do"
"Your brain is yours. Don't let other people's ideals take over your brain."
This realization became the compass for my life.
It's good to learn from others.Don't let it be taken over.
To those of you who are suffering right now
If you're currently feeling like you're suffering compared to that person...
First, stop for a moment and listen to your own voice.
What do you really want to do?
Can you take even one step towards what you want to do today?
Understanding the nature of suffering can set you free
"How to Let Go of Suffering" is filled with perspectives that will help you change your life.
It's not about "solving the problem" but about "changing the way you look at the problem."
The essence of suffering is within, not without.
